Premier League giants Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Newcastle United playmaker Bruno Guimaraes with Anfield legend Danny Murphy a huge fan of the £33 million Brazil international, speaking to talkSPORT.
Is there anything Bruno Guimaraes cannot do?
One of the most complete midfielders in English and potentially even European football, the former Lyon maestro is a major reason why Newcastle are sitting pretty in the Champions League places with just three games remaining until the World Cup break.

And Goal believes that Guimaraes, labelled ‘world-class’ by Magpies team-mate Dan Burn, could be rewarded for his sumptuous performances with a new and improved contract. One that could make him the best-paid player in Newcastle’s entire history.
Newcastle plan new Bruno Guimaraes contract as Liverpool eye Brazil star
“The lad in the middle of the park, Bruno Guimaraes; what a player. Honestly. Nail him down,” says Murphy, who spent seven years at Liverpool between 1997 and 2004.
“He’s got everything. He’s really, really tenacious, clever on the ball, he can see a pass and he can score. The only thing with him, when you look at how you’re going to set up, is whether you play him in the deeper role to get you playing, or do you let him have more licence because he can score a goal?
“It’s a great dilemma to have. But he has been their (Newcastle’s) number one signing. There have been other good performances and good signings, but he has been their main man.”
According to TNT Sport, Liverpool have expressed ‘concrete interest’ in Guimaraes, and will be watching closely to see how those contract talks develop. The one-time Arsenal and Juventus target is also on the radars of both Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Newcastle supporters can rest easy, however, in the knowledge that Guimaraes loves the Magpies as much as the Magpies love him.
“It’s a dream come true to be playing in the Premier League. The fans are crazy about me and nothing beats that in football,” Guimaraes tells FourFourTwo.
“Honestly, I get so much love out on the streets. Sometimes it feels like I’m the mayor of the city! They spot me and start yelling my name, wanting to take a picture. I’ve met people who’ve got a tattoo with my face on!
“It’s nuts. That’s the love fans have. It’s damn good to play in a place like this.”
